Halcyon Power is a joint venture between New Zealand's Tuaropaki Trust and Obayashi Corporation.
Obayashi is one of Japan's leading construction companies and is also active in the next generation energy sector.
Bringing together local and international technological expertise, Halcyon has developed a 1.25 MW green hydrogen plant. The plant uses renewable geothermal energy produced at Tuaropaki Trust’s geothermal power station at Mokai near Taupo.
Halcyon’s goal is to implement a green hydrogen supply chain for New Zealand, Japan, and other countries.
Tuaropaki Trust’s expertise in renewable geothermal energy, along with its role as an environmental guardian and commitment to research and development of alternative renewable green energy, is a perfect fit with Obayashi’s technology, global reach, and sustainability vision to expand its renewable energy business.
